C. Mark Hannan is a product of a Mid-western rural village. He was able to learn the values of hard work even from a tender age. He worked to develop as a businessman from the time he was a child and was given the values he needed in order to succeed in this regard. C. Mark Hannan worked on an oil and gas drilling rig as a roughneck when he was young, which gave him the ability to pay his way through college. Having to pay for his own college, and work during that time, taught him the true value of an education.

C. Mark Hannan has always sought to improve upon himself and upon his business acumen. He has succeeded in many ways, studying organizational learning, transformation, and effectiveness. On this subject, C. Mark Hannan follows the policies and teachings of people like John Kotter—a globally recognized business expert and the Professor Emeritus of the Harvard Business School.
